The Eastern Way Fundamental #2: Make Quality Personal

Take pride in the quality of everything you touch and everything you do. Always ask yourself, "Is this my best work? Everything you touch has your signature. Sign in bold ink.

Pride in your work is a great quality to possess. It can play an important role in your success at work. According to Oxford dictionary, pride is defined as, "a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements." My father always said, "no matter how big or small the job may be, always make sure that you complete it to the best of your ability." I will never forget this because it pushes me to give everything I touch my all. It could be something as simple as mopping a floor- after I'm done with it, that floor would be clean enough to eat off. Always make quality personal.

Know what the expectations of your tasks are and give it your all. While you are taking on your next task, take a minute to ask yourself, "Am I doing my best work?" By taking that brief moment, not only are you making quality personal, but you are also ensuring that expectations of that project are being met. Make sure it is something that you would sign off on.

Everything you touch has your signature, signing in bold ink should be your standard. I encourage you to put your pen aside, take out your Sharpie and sign everything in BOLD

Enjoy your week at work! Next up is Brian DeClesis with fundamental #3, "Make a great impression."
