Softmount Washers

When selecting a commercial washer it is important to recognize where this washer is being placed and what type of flooring this machine is going to be sitting on. There are 2 types of commercial washers; Hardmount washers and Softmount washers.

A Softmount washer is typically used when the washer is being placed on a second or third floor of a building, or the cement slab where the washer is being placed is not of sufficient thickness to hold a traditional Hardmount washer. A Sofmount washer is designed with a built-in suspension system where the washer drum is isolated from the vibrations of the floor. Laundromats will install Softmount washers if there is a basement below the store, and On Premise Laundries will install Softmount washers if the laundry is not located on the ground level, whereby the vibrations can cause disturbance for the occupants in the building.

Due to the complex engineering of making a Softmount washer, a Softmount washer will cost more than a Hardmount washer. However, the amount of money one could spend to create a foundation to support a Hardmount washer, in the same environment, could cost more than just buying a Softmount washer.

No need to worry about the amount of capacity of the Softmount washer as most manufacturers carry a variety of machines ranging from 18lbs to 135lbs.
