Laundry and Communications Cos. Team Up to Say Thank You to Hotel Owners

Cates Laundry Equipment and MickTel believe in showing their thanks to customers who have displayed their loyalty through the years. The two businesses recently teamed up for a customer appreciation event for Asian­American hotel owners.

The evening, which was the brainchild of Cates co­owner Tim Smith and MickTel owner Mickey Beck. Cates, which has offices in Memphis and Nashville, and Lebanon, Tenn.­based MickTel have forged a strong bond with the Asian­American hotel owners community, and the two companies have been wanting to say thank you.

“We wanted a way to show our loyalty to our valued hospitality industry clients,” Smith said. “This was strictly pleasure,” he added “we gave a lot of prizes away.”

By sheer numbers, the event was a success on a very major level. More than 250 owners attended the event, held at Clarion Hotel in Murfreesboro, Tenn. That group represented more than 600 hotel properties.

Mexican and Indian cuisine was served and door prizes, totaling roughly $8,000 were awarded. Prizes ranged from cash and gift cards to free services. The highlight of the evening was awarding the grand prize of an Wascomat Crossover washer, which uses significantly less water than topload washers and spins loads out at 300 G­force to reduce drying times.

“Everyone wanted to win that Crossover,” Smith joked of the major excitement the Energy­Star rated machine created.

In the end, Mr.Patel, from the Key Motel walked away with the grand prize.

With the success of the event, Smith and Beck plan to make it an annual celebration.
