Continental Unleashes New 70-Pound Capacity G-Flex Washer

Oshkosh, Wis.-- Continental Girbau Inc. (Continental) recently added the new 70-pound capacity G-Flex Washer to its most advanced line of hard-mount flexible-speed washers. The G-Flex line – featuring 40-, 55-, and 70-pound capacity models – boasts the ProfitPlus® Control, serial communication and programmable extract speeds up to 200 G-force.

“It made sense to add a more robustly sized machine to the G-Flex offering because big washers are in demand,” said Joel Jorgensen, vice president of sales and customer services. “The new 70-pound model not only offers 21 percent more capacity than the 55-pound model, it features a manageable width and fits through a standard 3-foot door opening. It matches up perfectly with Continental’s ExpressDry® 75-pound capacity drying tumbler.”

Delivering flexibility to meet installation requirements, G-Flex Washers offer six programmable extract speeds, including 100, 140 and 200 G-force. This allows vended laundries to program extract speed for installations over less than desirable foundations. When utilized at 200 G-force, G-Flex Washers work to remove more moisture from each load, which reduces dry times and natural gas consumption. Customers complete laundry sooner and store owners enjoy quicker customer turnover. 

The washer’s ProfitPlus Control helps set vended laundries apart by offering customers more control over the laundry process. It features SUPERWASH, an extra-long cycle for heavy soil; HOT, for whites; WARM for colorfast and permanent press items; and COLD for colors. It also allows the customer to add an EXTRA WASH, EXTRA RINSE and/or DELICATE CYCLE.

Meanwhile, owners can program G-force extract, mechanical action, wash temperature (by degree), water levels and wash/rinse/extract time in each phase. The control's flexibility allows multi-level vend pricing on the same machine depending on the wash program selected, time of day, or day of the week. Additionally, owners can program variables within the EXTRA WASH, EXTRA RINSE and DELICATE CYCLE options, including the extra wash or rinse time in minutes, the addition of another bath, vend price and G-force extract speed.

It takes just a few minutes to program an entire laundry using the control and standard serial communication. When teamed with popular payment systems, ProfitPlus integrates networking, remote programming and payment-system interface to make quick programming possible. In seconds, from a remote computer, netbook, iPad or cell phone, owners can configure pricing and specials, run reports, schedule routine maintenance flushes, and monitor the status of the system and equipment in real-time. Owners can instantaneously download the modifications onto specific machines, or an entire store.

G-Flex Washers are engineered to conserve water. The AquaFall system releases water into the load via holes in the drum lifters to better penetrate fabrics; AquaMixer mixes hot and cold water before entering the drum. This achieves very precise water temperatures—offering greater control over hot water consumption.
