Continental Debuts New ExpressWash® 60-Pound Capacity Washer

Oshkosh, Wis.—Continental Girbau Inc. (Continental) recently added the 60-pound capacity ExpressWash® Washer to its comprehensive line of freestanding, high-speed washers engineered to cut dry time and utility consumption. The ExpressWash line now features 20-, 30-, 40-, 60- and 90-pound capacity models – all equipped with the advanced ProfitPlus® Control.

The new 60-pound capacity ExpressWash Washer replaces its 55-pound capacity predecessor with bolstered capacity, design enhancements and improved G-force extract speeds. “Vended laundry customers want larger washers,” said Joel Jorgensen, Continental vice president of sales and customer services. “That’s been a trend for the past decade. The new 60-pound capacity ExpressWash Washer features the same footprint as the old 55-pound model, extract speeds of 400 G-force, and an improved design for simpler installation and serviceability.”

Like all ExpressWash Washers, the 60-pound capacity model ensures self-service customers compete laundry in 60 minutes or less. Meanwhile, vended laundry owners relish the washer’s durability, programmability and profit potential. 

ExpressWash Washers boast a unique suspension system and freestanding design that combine for simple installation and extract speeds reaching 400-G force. The super-speed extract removes more water from each load—reducing dry time by up to 50 percent. Customers finish laundry – wash, dry and fold – in less than 60 minutes. Vended laundry owners cut utility overhead costs, improve customer turnover and bolster profits.

The washer’s ProfitPlus® Control helps set vended laundries apart by offering customers more control over the laundry process. It features SUPERWASH, an extra-long cycle for heavy soil; HOT, for whites; WARM for colorfast and permanent press items; and COLD for colors. It also allows the customer to add an EXTRA WASH, EXTRA RINSE and/or DELICATE CYCLE. ProfitPlus gives customers more control over how their laundry is washed – helping to set laundries apart from their competition.

Additionally, the highly programmable control allows vended laundry owners to lower water, natural gas and electricity usage – cutting operational costs. The ProfitPlus Control offers four individually modifiable programs that allow programmability of G-force extract, mechanical action, wash temperature (by degree), water levels and wash/rinse/extract time in each phase. The control's flexibility allows multi-level vend pricing on the same machine depending on the wash program selected, time of day, or day of the week. Additionally, owners can now program variables within the EXTRA WASH, EXTRA RINSE and DELICATE CYCLE options, including the extra wash or rinse time in minutes, the addition of another bath, vend price and G-force extract speed.

Rather than all day, it takes just a few minutes to program an entire laundry using ProfitPlus. When teamed with popular payment systems, ProfitPlus integrates networking, remote programming and payment-system interface to make quick programming possible. In seconds, from a remote computer, tablet, iPad or cell phone, owners can configure pricing and specials, run reports, schedule routine maintenance flushes, and monitor the status of the system and equipment in real-time.

Delivering unrivaled water efficiency, ExpressWash Washers feature a sump-less design. This saves up to 3 gallons of water with each fill. 

Moreover, the washer’s AquaFall and AquaMixer systems further curb water usage. AquaFall releases water into the load via holes in the drum lifters. As the drum turns, lifters release water from above to better penetrate fabric. Most other frontloads use lifters to simply drop fabric into a pool of water at the bottom of the washer drum. With ExpressWash, laundry is saturated from above and below. This unique system cuts water usage and rinse cycle times while improving the quality of the wash. AquaMixer further improves efficiency by mixing hot and cold water before entering the drum. This achieves very precise water temperatures—offering greater control over hot water consumption.
